Banana = (1 / 10) * 40 = 4
Apple = (2 / 100) * 40 = 8
Mango = (3 / 10) * 40 = 12
Orange = (4 / 10) * 40 = 16
Total weight of the fruits:
4 * 60 + 8 * 120 + 12 * 180 + 16 * 90 = 240 + 960 + 2160 + 1440 = 4600 = 4.6 kg

4. In a group of 20 women each like to go for shopping. On an average each of them goes for shopping 12 times per year. If 5 of them moved to another society and out of the remaining 5 increased their consistency to shop by 50 % and 10 decreased their consistency to shop by 25%, how many times will they visit the shopping mall in total?
a) 240
b) 180
c) 160
d) 140
View Answer

Answer: b
Explanation: Total number of times they visited the shop in previous year = 12 * 20 = 240
Number of women left = 15
New consistency of the 5 women with increased shopping consistency = 12 + 50% of 12
12 + 12 * 50 / 100 = 12 + 6 = 18
New consistency of the women with decreased consistency to shop = 12 – 25% of 12
12 – 12 * 25 / 100 = 12 – 3 = 9
Total = 5 women with 0 consistency, 5 women with a consistency of 18 times per annum and 10 women with a consistency of 9 times per annum = 5 * 0 + 5 * 18 + 10 * 9 = 0 + 90 + 90 = 180
New consistency = 180 times per annum.

5. Out of 30 days of a month the income of a stall for the first 5 days was 100 per day for the next 10 days the income was 200 per day and for the last 15 days the income was 300 per day. If there was a fixed expenditure of 5000 per month and a variable expenditure of 70 per week. Find the monthly profit of the stall.
a) 1700
b) 1800
c) 1900
d) 2000
View Answer

Answer: a
Explanation: Total income for 30 days = 5 * 100 + 10 * 200 + 15 * 300 = 500 + 2000 + 4500 = 7000
Total expenditure = 5000 fixed expenditure per month + variable expenditure of 70 per week
Per week = 70 per day = 70 / 7 = 10
For 30 days = 30 * 10 = 300
Total variable expenditure = 5000 + 300 = 5300
Total profit = 7000 – 5300 = 1700

6. The average of 20 results is 200. If the average of the first 12 results is 250 and the average of last 7 results is 90, find the 13th result.
a) 300
b) 340
c) 360
d) 370
View Answer

Answer: d
Explanation: The total of the results = 20 * 200 = 4000
The total of the first 12 results = 12 * 250 = 3000
The total of the last 7 results = 7 * 90 = 630
13th term = sum of 20 results – sum of first 12 results – sum of last 7 results
4000 – 3000 – 630 = 370

8. Out of 30 employees of an office, 5 are retired this year 10 got a hike of 25% and the remaining 15 had the same pay as before. If the retired employees got the same pay as pension and the initial salary of each employee was 20000 per month what is the new expenditure of the company in relation to employee’s salaries?
a) 6,00,000
b) 6,50,000
c) 7,00,000
d) 7,50,000
View Answer

Answer: b
Explanation: Pension of the retired employees = 5 * 20000 = 1,00,000 per month in total
Total salary of the employees with raise = 20000 + 25% of 20000 = 20000 + 25 * 20000 / 100 = 20000 + 5000 = 25000. 25000 * 10 = 2,50,000 in total
Salaries of the employees with no raise = 20000 * 15 = 3,00,000 in total
Total expenditure of the company = 1,00,000 + 2,50,000 + 3,00,000 = 6,50,000

a) 50
b) 52
c) 55
d) 57
View Answer

Answer: d
Explanation: Total marks obtained:
20 * 40 = 800
30 * 40 = 1200
50% of the remaining = 50 * 50 / 100 = 25
20 * 60 = 1200
Remaining = 25. 25 * 100 = 2500
Total marks obtained = 800 + 1200 + 1200 + 2500 = 5700
