7."Optimal Amount of Refrigerant in a Refrigeration System" by Patrick Wainaina
“Optimal Amount of Refrigerant in a Refrigeration System” Book Review: Determination of the optimal amount of refrigerant in field assembled refrigeration systems by use of a sight glass installed in a liquid line is often misleading and unreliable. This is attributed to interferences to laminar flow of the refrigerant in the sight glass by ice formation in the expansion valve, vaporization of the liquid in pipes and foreign particles. Due to these interferences refrigeration systems may be overcharged or undercharged with the refrigerant. Measurement of temperatures and pressures at the inlet and exit of an evaporator may provide an accurate and reliable criterion of establishing the optimal amount of refrigerant in a refrigeration system. Using Rayleigh’s method of dimensional analysis, a mathematical model that expresses the evaporator cooling rate for field assembled refrigeration systems in terms of physical properties of the evaporator and the thermodynamic properties of refrigerant R134 a was developed. The model expresses the optimal amount of refrigerant in a refrigeration system corresponding to the maximum cooling rate.

9."Systemes de Refrigeration Magnetique" by Bouchekara-H
“Systemes de Refrigeration Magnetique” Book Review: The work carried out within the framework of this thesis is a contribution to the study and thermal and electromagnetic modeling of magnetic refrigeration systems. It already clearly shows that the design and optimization of these systems must call on specific numerical simulation tools, because the difficulties related to thermal behavior, magnetic behavior, mechanical stresses and especially user needs are often many. In this work, we have also created, modeled, optimized 3 devices dedicated to magnetic refrigeration. In addition, we participated in the realization of a magnetic refrigeration prototype. In this work we have laid the groundwork for magnetic refrigeration systems which will allow subsequent research to deepen one or more of the proposed systems or even to be inspired by them to design and realize new systems.

2."Thermoelectric Refrigeration (The International Cryogenics Monograph Series)" by H Goldsmid
“Thermoelectric Refrigeration (The International Cryogenics Monograph Series)” Book Review: Thermoelectric refrigeration is the process of pumping heat energy out of an insulated chamber in order to reduce the temperature of the chamber below that of the surrounding air. Thermoelectric refrigeration uses a principle called the “PELTIER” effect to pump heat electronically. The Peltier effect is named after a French scientist who discovered it in 1834. Thermoelectric modules are constructed from a series of tiny metal cubes of dissimilar exotic metals which are physically bonded together and connected electrically. When electrical current passes through the cube junctions, heat is transferred from one metal to the other. Solid-state thermoelectric modules are capable of transferring large quantities of heat when connected to a heat absorbing device on one side and a heat dissipating device on the other. This book tries to throw limelight on the overall concept of Thermoelectric Refrigeration.
