Overview:

• Accelerates and supports the ongoing activities in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Computer vision for multiple use cases for quality improvement in the area of manufacturing.
• Deals with large volumes of data, understands and explores data critical to company business.
• Drives data for future company processes and products.
• Works with different company business units to understand the business demands with respect to Artificial Intelligence and Quality Assessment.
• Conducts advanced analytical tasks, designs deep learning models, data mining, and computer vision to enable the company to improve its products, services and processes.

Responsibilities:

• Analyzes business critical data and recommends improvements.
• Works with large data sets consisting of predominantly images and conducts advanced analytics tasks. Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
• Works with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.
• Develops custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.
• Coordinates with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes.
• Develops processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.
• Serves as internal consultant to other developers and engineers as needed, providing assistance in all phases of product life-cycle development.
• Advises developers and engineers on latest data analytics technologies and assists the team in process matters as related to development/support and provides the necessary on the job training and development of associates/contractors within the team.
• Maintains accurate, meaningful and updated technical and non-technical documentation pertaining to all aspects of area(s) of responsibility.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree in computer science, mathematics/statistics or related field.
• Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in computer science, mathematics/statistics or a related field (preferred).
• 3+ years post-university experience in advanced analytics in the field of data science, applying scientific data analytics methods preferably to automotive industry datasets.
• 1+ years proven experience completing projects with a set of various data sources.
• 3+ years of knowledge in using statistical computer languages (Python, SLQL, etc) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets
• 1+ years of knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.
• Intermediate knowledge of deep learning architectures (RNN, CNN, LSTM, etc.) and frameworks (Tensor flow, Keras, etc.)
• 3+ years of knowledge of in one or more of the following programming languages: Python, Java, C++
• 3+ years of knowledge and experience in Computer Science and in database technologies including SQL, Oracle, SQLServer, SAP HANA and NoSQL databases
• 3+ years of experience in statistical languages and tools in particular R
• 3+ years of experience in problem solving skills with an emphasis on product development

What You’ll Do:

As a Machine Learning Engineer at Physna, you will help bring new capabilities to market that allows users to work more effectively with 3D data. The products and innovations you build will help our users by providing intelligent insights into their 3D data inventory. In this role, you will collaborate with our engineering and product teams to research, design, deploy, scale and test machine learning systems.

• Design custom neural network architectures, to train and recognize 3D geometry from 3D and 2D input data
• Measure and test ML system accuracy and efficacy and automate machine learning parameter tuning
• Deploy large-scale ML systems in the cloud
• Experience with image labeling and tagging of data and models (3D labeling is a plus)
• Experience with computer vision image recognition
• Develop pipelines for processing 3D, 2D and meta-data for ML training
• Work closely with cross-functional teammates, including product managers, engineers, and leadership, to deliver the highest impact

What We’ll Expect From You:

• 5+ years industry experience in software engineering or machine learning-focused roles
• Bachelor’s degree in CE, CSE, Mathematics or related field
• A strong track record of performing machine learning model development using Python (numpy, tensorflow, pytorch, scikit-learn, etc.) and SQL/NoSQL interaction patterns
• Familiarity with data warehouse technologies such as GCP BigQuery or AWS Redshift
• Familiarity with Linux/OS X command line, version control software (git), and general software development principles with a machine learning software development life-cycle orientation
• Knowledge of modern techniques in machine learning and deep learning, e.g., transformer network architectures, with an orientation to maximizing such algorithms in a large scale production setting.
• Machine learning strategic sequencing of methodological and software improvements to work back from maximizing core metrics associated with optimizing the business
• Ability to lead and execute projects from idea to deployment
• The ability to clearly communicate complex results to technical and non-technical audiences

Nice to Have:

• Working knowledge of Google Cloud services and design practices
• Working knowledge with APIs, data processing pipelines and distributed systems
• Experience working with 3D data and 3D design software such as Autodesk, SolidWorks, Maya or Blender

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining and/or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
• 3 years of experience with ML/AI algorithms and tools, deep learning and/or natural language processing.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role. Experience developing accessible technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Write and test product or system development code.
• Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.

What you’ll do:

• Explore methods and build solutions by developing workflows to run in parallel at large-scale on our cloud-based Orion platform
• Work on challenging problems and help find practical solutions that advance the field of computational drug discovery
• Explore hybrid ML and physics-based methods to solve problems in drug discovery related to biologics and structure-based drug design.
• Improve and extend OpenEye’s biomolecular modeling and protein informatics technology across a broad set of capabilities, including maintaining current APIs, designing new APIs, and writing documentation
• Collaborate with great colleagues within our group and more widely within OpenEye on developing new methods, tools, and solutions

What you should have:

• PhD (or Master’s with 2 years experience or equivalent) in computational chemistry, chemistry, machine learning, or related field
• Programming expertise, ideally in C++ or python
• Experience in or desire to learn about the pharmaceutical industry
• Good people/communication skills and ability to work as a part of a diverse team as well as independently
• Ability to work under a development schedule, balancing features with constraints of delivering professional software

The following are a PLUS, but not required:

• Experience with OpenEye software
• Fluency in python and standard ML and data science tools and packages (e.g., pytorch, tensorflow, scikit-learn, pandas, numpy)
• Experience with any computational chemistry toolkits
• Experience with Antibody selection, design, and modeling
• Experience with Rosetta, AlphaFold, OpenFold, or related technologies
• Experience with applying ML to large data and/or distributed compute resources
• Knowledge of traditional computational chemistry approaches including protein preparation, docking, virtual screening, molecular modeling, etc.

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years of training and deploying deep learning models using a modern machine learning framework (TensorFlow/Keras, PyTorch, JAX, Caffe, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of advanced mathematics and 4+ years of experience in feature engineering, computer vision, NLP and/or recommendation engines.
• 2+ years of experience leading a team to deliver ML solutions.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with data science libraries (Pandas, Matplotlib, OpenCV etc) a mix of experience acquired between industry work and an MS or PhD is fine.
• 4+ years of experience building and deploying software to production using Python, C++.
• 3+ years of experience reading and implementing research publications in
• Master's Degree or higher in Computer Science/Engineering/Math, or relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• PhD in Computer Vision, AI, or Machine Learning with 1 year or more of industry experience
• MS in Computer Vision, AI, or Machine Learning with 3 years or more of industry experience
• 2+ years of experience working in Agile team environment
• 4+ years of industrial experience with at least one of the following languages: Python, C++, Java
• Published research or Patents in computer vision, NLP, or related fields.
