Linux Administrator + Storage

The selected candidate is going to work on Linux and Storage components administration, troubleshooting, monitoring and reporting.

Responsibilities

Manage linux servers - Backup, RAID, Storage, LVM, Filesystem, Database, etc.
Systems administration, maintenance and monitoring various day-to-day operations.
Monitoring server performance through tools like Nagios.
Performance Monitoring tuning using iostat, vmstat and netstat.
Managing system security patches.(Patch Management).
Managing the up gradation on different tools with prior downtime taken from the client.
Monitoring Virtual memory, adding additional swap space as needed.
File system administration and management like monitoring various logs, file system sizes etc.
Development, Production and QA Servers monitoring and Maintenance.
Creating records in weekly basis and monthly Basis for the Performance and Availability of the Environment.
Automation of day-day run-maintain activities using shell/Perl/Python scripts
Planning & Resolving the Issues within the Specified down time.
Basic diagnosis and escalation of alerts to appropriate Authorities.

Requirements

Any Linux based Certification on Server/Storage.
Knowledge on application specific deamons/server on linux
Any scripting language like Python or Shell Scripting.
Have knowledge on Hyper-V or any virtualization tool.
Problem-solving skill: while installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux systems and servers, administrators often need to employ creative and technical problem-solving skills to resolve issues or devise a new solution.
Understanding of Server OS installation techniques
Knowledge on clustering technology.
Exposure with backup and recovery software and techniques
Understanding of SAN fabric, and storage (basic knowledge) and capacity planning
Strong troubleshooting skills
