Silicide-on-Si structures, novel nanometer and layered devices were also discussed. Higher than 50 papers were presented. These papers were divided into two groups. They were compiled in two volumes. They are “Silicon-on-Insulator (SOl): Its Technology and Applications” and “Layered Structures and Interface Kinetics: Their Technology and Applications”. In this volume, papers relating to epitaxial growth of metal are included. Insulator and semiconductor films, growth mechanisms and interface kinetics are also given. Properties and applications of silicide films, and novel nanometer and layered devices described. Basic properties of the layered structures and various applications are provided. These are of the structures of future semiconductor devices.
